What is Extemporaneous Speaking?
Extemp is a limited prep event in which competitors have 30 minutes to prepare a speech on a question relating to global or national politics, economics, or current events. The speech is then delivered without the assistance of notes for a grand total of seven minutes with a 30 second grace period.
